The Honda S2000 is hailed as having one of the best feeling factory shifters and transmissions of all time, but now that the newest S2000 is at least 15 years old, some could use a refresh. The S2000 F-Series transmission has a total of seven detent springs that are responsible for keeping the gear changes nice and crips. These factory springs also have a service limit, meaning they should be changed when they no longer meet the requirements.
This detent spring kit includes all seven detent springs which breakdown like this:
x1 Front/Back, x1 Left/Right, x2 1/2 Gear, x1 3/4 Gear,x1 5/6 Gear & x1 Reverse Gear
Our heavy-duty transmission detent springs offer an increase in the preload and 80% stiffer spring rate over the factory parts which aids the transmission gear selector fork. Upgrading these springs will make your gear engagements a bit sharper since they replace the soft or worn-out OEM parts.
Unlike the Honda FWD transmission, the S2000's gear change can be affected in every direction, independently of each other. Meaning you can choose to change certain springs to get the feeling that is best for you. An immediate change in feel will be noticed once installed. Replace the worn-out detent springs and add new life to your gear changes!
These springs have been specifically designed and tested for the Honda S2000!
Be sure to torque the transmission detent bolts to 16 lbf-ft (22 N-m / 2.2 kgf-m).
